Long before the final declarations came out I had La Yakel ear marked for this race, so really annoying that the 6/1 disappeared last night but still think he’s a bet at current odds. His running style should suit York ( comes from off the pace). He improved with every run last season including a stylish win in the Lavazza Stakes last September at Ascot. His rating of 92 looks quite lenient on his form so far, and by the end of the season I wouldn’t be surprised if he is rated 100+. A horse to follow going forward

Today Dakota Gold attempts to win more races at York than any other horse and I think he can!!
He really caught my eye last time with a fast finishing run behind live in the dream at Pontefract. This race surely has been the plan and off a 6lb higher mark than when winning this race last season must go close .
First folio also should go well, has York winning form but has been a bit slow out of the gates in previous races . If Daniel Musscut can get him in position early he’s drawn well next too Dakota gold and should get a nice tow into the race. Only 3lb higher than from his last win and the good ground suits him . Let’s pray for a quick start from him though.

All the talk coming into the race has been about the Sir Michael Stoute trained Infinite Cosmos but I’m going to side with Novakai. She was a good 2yo, with her standout performance being when nearly beating the smart commissioning in the Group 1 fillies mile at Newmarket last October. She’s bred to be a better 3yo (being related too 1m4f group race winner Nathaniel) and the step in trip should suit her . Could be a very good filly this season and I’ll be following her closely.
