Premier League:
Manchester City v Arsenal – 26 April

Manchester City and Arsenal meet in a match that could decide who wins the Premier League title this season.

City are in great form, having won six of their last six home Premier League fixtures by at least a two-goal margin, even though only two of them came with a clean sheet.

Arsenal, on the other hand, has seen their lead at the top of the table diminish after three consecutive draws, two of them after going 2-0 up inside 30 minutes.

A loss here could put an end to their title chances, even though they have gone unbeaten in their last five away league games.

The game promises to be exciting, with players such as Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, and Gabriel Martinelli expected to play crucial roles.

Mahrez has made three goal contributions in his last four Premier League appearances against Arsenal, as well as notching an FA Cup semi-final hattrick last weekend vs Sheffield United.

We know what Pep Guardiola is like with his team selection, though – the Spaniard may not even start Mahrez, opting possibly for Grealish, Alvarez and Haaland.

Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli have scored twice within the first 30 minutes across Arsenal’s last three games. Jesus also has an impressive 4 goals in his last 7 appearances sice returning from injury vs Fulham on 12 March.

Martinelli is in scintillating form for the Gunners, recording 12 goal contributions in his last 12 games (8G, 4A), but it is a tough task against a City team that have the second best defence in the league only conceding 28 goals.

Injuries could be a factor, with City having a doubt over Nathan Ake, while Arsenal have been dealing with some significant injuries to key players, including William Saliba, who may have played his final game of the season prematurely.

The potential headline-makers are also interesting, with Erling Haaland potentially equaling the Premier League record of 34 goals in a season (currently held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer, The Analyst).

Former City players Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko could have the chance to upset their former team-mates.

Who wins Man City v Arsenal?

Ultimately, the game will come down to who can handle the pressure better, and City seems to have the upper hand in that regard.

They have momentum and experience, and with their fixture pile-up, they could have been feeling the strain, but there are no signs of it.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are facing this situation for the first time as a squad and are in need of a lift, anything but a draw for Arteta’s men could be damning.

The bookies now favourite Man City to retain the title for a third consecutive year priced at 1.22 @ William Hill.

There is still hope for Arsenal though in the eyes of the bookies. Fancied at odds of 4.33 @ William Hill.

Manchester City v Arsenal Best Bet & Tips

Double #YourOdds @ William Hill
Man City To Win, Haaland To Have Over 1 Shot On Target & Over 9 Corners – Was 3/1 now 6/1 (7.00)!

Man City have won every game they have played at the Etihad this year (12 wins), last failing to get the win versus Everton on New Years Eve (1-1). Arsenal have also failed to beat in their last 14 matches stretching back to 2015 (L12, D2).
Haaland is going to match the record for 34 goals, it’s a case of when not if. He should be able to perform in the big games too, 7 goals in his last 3 Champions League knock-out games attest to that. The Norwegian has also only failed to score once in his last 8 games, recording 15 goals in that time.
Corners could be the bets downfall but at double the odds it’s worth the risk. Games involving Man City average 8.80 corners in total, while Man City home games average 9.40 corners. Games involving Arsenal average 9.44 corners in total and away from home average 9.31 corners.
1pt bet.

Granit Xhaka to be booked & over 2.5 total goals – 44/25 (2.76) @ QuinnBet Create-a-Bet

Granit Xhaka averages 82 mins per game in the Premier League this season so should be on long enough to see himself get booked. With his attitude and discipline when things don’t go his way, don’t be surprised if he starts to get a bit more ‘violent’ if he feels the title is slipping through his fingers. I can see a ‘Battle of the Bridge’ replica on the cards tonight.
There was over 2.5 goals in 67% of games involving Man City – way above the Premier League average of 51%. Similarly, there have been over 2.5 goals in 69% of games involving Arsenal.
1pt Stake.

BTTS, Rodri & Gabriel Jesus Both To Be Carded – 18/1 (19.00) @ William Hill

Both teams score in 59% of games involving Arsenal while both teams score in 60% of games involving Man City – above the PL average of 50.32%.
Rodri will be playing a team that will have more of the ball than he is used to, and in that holding midfield spot it is his job to sweep up any counter attacks from the likes of Jesus, Sake and Martinelli. Gabriel Jesus has received 5 yellows cards in just 20 apps this season, and with heightened stakes and facing former teammates, he may be frustrated up top.
1pt stake.
