2023 ATP tour Clay Court Season.

Tuesday 4th April results for the ATP Tour, also predictions for upcoming matches.

Tuesday saw an action packed day of clay court tennis at its finest, we are back to the long rallies and slides! This week the ATP tour offer 3 tournaments that do not feature all of the top players but very good matches and players nonetheless. In the Estoril Open in Portugal the most exciting match was Dominic Thiem having to fight back from a set down to beat Sebastian Ofner 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. This tough win can hopefully be the step needed for the Austrian to regain his best form, with his favourite surface also helping out. Young American Ben Shelton showed some good form in beating Constant Lestienne in straight sets and his style seems to suit the clay very well, so its worth keeping an eye out for the talented youngster. In Houston Americans Marcos Giron and J.J Wolf had very easy wins where Steve Johnson on the other side had to battle to overcome Facundo Bagnis in 3 sets where he now sets up an even tougher match against Francis Tiafoe. The biggest surprise in the Marrakech Open in Morocco saw Richard Gasquet knocked out in straight sets by compatriot Alexandre Muller. Good wins in Morocco also for Elias Ymer and Roberto Carballes Baena with the latter beating world 38 Maxime Cressy.
