Champions League Bets & Preview:
Chelsea v Real Madrid
Chelsea face a monumental task as they attempt to overturn a two-goal deficit against Real Madrid in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie.
The London club’s recent form has been poor, with six winless competitive games, including a 2-1 loss to Brighton on the weekend that manager Frank Lampard described as “not a Chelsea performance”.
There are rumours that Todd Boehly has labelled the Chelsea squad as ’embarrassing’ in an hour-long rant aimed to motivate the players ahead of tonight’s UCL second-leg.
Nevertheless, Lampard can take inspiration from his predecessor Graham Potter, who oversaw Chelsea’s victory in the second leg of their Round of 16 game against Borussia Dortmund despite losing the first leg.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, go into the game in fine form and are expected to continue the first legs excellent display at the Bernabeu.
They rested players in their 2-0 victory over Cádiz on the weekend, but will be worrying about the fitness of Toni Kroos and Vinícius Júnior, who were absentees on the weekend as a precaution.
Real Madrid have a strong record against English teams outside of Spain, winning three of their last four games, including a 3-1 victory over Chelsea last season.
One key battle to watch out for will be between Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
Kepa has a clean sheet against Madrid from his time at Athletic Bilbao, but Benzema has scored 20 UEFA Champions League goals against English clubs, second only to Lionel Messi (27 goals). Benzema has also found the net four times in Madrid’s last three European fixtures.
Real Madrid have won the last four European ties in which they won the first leg 2-0 at home, and they have scored in each of their last seven UEFA Champions League fixtures on foreign soil, winning four, drawing one and losing two.
Chelsea will need to produce one of their greatest ever European performances if they are to overcome their two-goal deficit and progress to the semi-finals.

Champions League Tips & Bets
x2 Odds: Real Madrid To Win, Benzema, Vinicius & Felix Each To Have A Shot On Target (90 Mins) – Was 7/2 Now 7/1!
As mentioned above, Vinicius Jr could be a doubt for tonight’s game having been rested as a precaution at the weekend. However IF, all three players play, this could well be an insanely valued bet.
Frenchman, Benzema has averaged 2.1 Shots on Target (SoT) this UCL campaign and with Madrid’s excellent record against English teams I can see him surpassing that average tonight.
Similarly, Vini Jr averages a solid 2.2 SoT per Champions League 90 mins.
Ex-Atletico Madrid man, Joao Felix also averages above 1 SoT in the UCL this year – (1.7).
1pt stake.
Double #YourOdds with William Hill here!
BTTS and each team over 2 corners – 23/20
Chelsea surely can’t draw a blank against Real Madrid tonight. They will be up for it which could leave them open at the back and Real Madrid’s deadly attack could prove too much for Chelsea. The Blues had their fair share of chances in the first-leg so they will be hoping they can capitalise on Madrid’s high line.
In terms of corners, Chelsea average 3 corners per game in the UCL (4 at home).
Real Madrid also average 4 corners per game in Europe (6 away from home).
2pt stake.
Longshot – Real Madrid To Win Both Halves, Chelsea Most Cards & Real Madrid Most Corners In Each Half – 75/1
This William Hill’s #YourOdds selection is an attractive price at 75/1. It’s a longshot for a reason but if Madrid can frustrate Chelsea I can definitely see Chelsea getting caught in the referee’s book more. I would advise a 0.5pt stake on this.
