What a feast of semi final matches the last 4 participants gave the whole tennis fan world! 2 epic battles with 2 worth finalists that will battle it out on Sunday. The first match saw a battle of 2 Russians friends turned rivals for the day with Daniil Medvedev edging Karen Khachanov in 3 tight and long sets full of baseline rallies. Medvedev edged the first set on a tie break but Khachanov courageously fought back to take the set 6-3 and to a deciding set where however he seemed to gas out giving Medvedev the opportunity to use his experience and take the match home 6-3 in the third. After such a combative first semi final it was tough to see the same level of excitement in the second semi finals, however the 2 young stars and future of tennis not only matched the first semi but exceeded it with some brilliant tennis producing one of the matches of the year. Jannik Sinner stormed off to an early lead in the first set taking a break and a 4-1 lead only to see the world number 1 Carlos Alcaraz fight back and win the the set on a tie break. Spanish fans must of assumed that their number one player will close off the match seeing the level of tennis he has produced over the last 2 weeks, but Sinner had other plans and showed that he too can reach the same high levels. The Italian then took control of the match, winning the second and third sets 6-4, 6-2 respectively. The future of tennis is looking very promising with these 2 youngsters! Another mouth watering match is expected with Medvedev vs Sinner!
