Day 9 of the ATP Miami Masters 1000 event was one of the first days which did not produce any major upsets. Daniil Medvedev ended the fairy tale run of Christopher Eubanks which saw him finally make the top 100 in the ATP rankings. The 6 foot 7 American put up some good resistance especially in the second set but ended up on the losing side with a score of 6-3, 7-5 despite Jamie Fox watching on from the stands. The most anticipated match was between the world number 1 teen prodigy Carlos Alcaraz and hometown favourite world number 10 Taylor Fritz but the Spaniard cut the crowd’s enthusiasm short as he kept up his impressive form and dispatched of the American in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. Semi Finals will be the next stage with the first semi featuring an all Russian contest with Medvedev taking on Khachanov followed by possibly the match of the tournament; Alcaraz vs Sinner.
